Elizabeth Samuels Drama School ‘Show in a Week’ provides students with the opportunity to rehearse for a play, over four days, with a professional director. On the fifth and final day of the week, the cast take to the stage in front of friends and family to perform their play!

This Easter our Y7-Y11 production is:

Mutants

A brand new play by Ed Hartland.

Rehearsals will take place from 9th April - 12th April, 9am - 3.30pm at Orleans Park Secondary School, TW1 3BB

On Sunday 13th April the cast will be needed at the theatre from 1.45pm.

The performance will take place at The Questors Theatre on Sunday 13th April at 6pm.

(booking for Show in a Week closes 1 week before the first rehearsal as the cast receive the parts and start learning their lines).

Synopsis:
In a world where mutants are outcasts, one daring individual defies society's harsh rules. After a dramatic trial where a mutant is discovered hiding in a loft, the loft's owner is sentenced to exile in the treacherous Badlands. This desolate wasteland is the mutants' only refuge, far from the civilized "Norm" society that shuns them.

Follow the journey of the exiled protagonist as they struggle to survive in this harsh new reality. Alone and vulnerable, they encounter the very mutant they once sheltered, who reveals the brutal truth of life in the Badlands—survival at any cost. Desperate for allies, the exile joins forces with a group of mutants, including their former charge, united in defiance against the oppressive authorities who banish them.

As tensions rise and alliances are tested, the story builds to a thrilling conclusion. Instead of returning with a meek apology, the exile boldly exposes the truth to the gathered crowd, igniting a rebellion against the unjust persecution of mutants. It's a tale of courage, loyalty, and the fight for justice in a world divided by fear and prejudice.
