Synopsis:
Beneath the bustling streets of London lies the Under Ground, a hidden world struggling for survival under the weight of the Over Ground’s concrete, steel, noise, and pollution. This mystical realm mirrors the city above, embodying its environmental challenges.
When a teenager from the Over Ground accidentally falls into the Under Ground, they embark on an epic quest to return home and save both worlds. Along the way, they face numerous dangers, including encounters with legendary figures like Old Father Thames, the Highgate Vampire, Gog and Magog, and the terrifying London Sewer Beast. Their journey leads them to the heart of the Under Ground, where a dying forest reveals a crucial mission. The ancient trees, an Old Walnut, and the seven elms (the namesakes of Seven Sisters) explain that the teenager must take seeds back to the Over Ground to help rewild the city and heal the damage.
However, the journey is fraught with peril. The main antagonist, Nodnol, is the embodiment of the Over Ground’s concrete and pollution, determined to obliterate the Under Ground. The teenager must overcome immense challenges and confront Nodnol to save both worlds from destruction.
Will they succeed in their quest and restore balance to the two worlds? Join us in this thrilling musical adventure to find out.

Booking Information:
Registrations close one week before the first rehearsal as cast members receive their parts and start learning their lines.
Participation:
Open to all students passionate about theatre from Year 7 to Year 11. No prior acting or singing experience required.

Who can take part in?
Musical Mayhem is open to any student with a passion for theatre and a desire to perform on stage. No prior acting experience is required – just enthusiasm and a willingness to participate. To join, students must have started Year 7 in September 2024 or later. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a complete beginner, we welcome you to be part of this exciting adventure!
For Year 6 students, we have other fantastic opportunities. You can join our Show in a Week productions, tailored specifically for younger performers.
